Fluke 1742, 1746 and 1748 three-phase Power Quality Loggers

Producer: Fluke

With the compact and robust Fluke power meter, you can easily log mains power quality. In LHM Instruments' range, you will find the Fluke 1742, 1746 and 1748 three-phase Power Quality Loggers. With this power meter, you have the data you need to make critical, real-time decisions about power quality and energy consumption immediately.

A power meter to work flexibly

The compact and rugged Fluke 1740 Series Power Quality Loggers are designed specifically for technicians who need flexibility to troubleshoot, calculate energy consumption and analyse power distribution systems. The Fluke 1740 series fully complies with international power quality standards, such as IEC 61000-4-30. It can simultaneously log up to 500 parameters and record events. Moreover, tracing intermittent and hard-to-locate power supply problems is easier than ever. With the integrated Energy Analyze Plus software, mains power quality at the service input, distribution station or load can be quickly assessed according to national and international standards such as EN50160 and IEEE 519.

Easy installation

Installing the power meter is easier than ever and reduces measurement uncertainty thanks to an optimised user interface, flexible current clamps and an intelligent measurement monitoring function that allows you to check and correct connections digitally. Via a Wi-Fi connection, you view data directly on site. This not only reduces the time spent in a potentially hazardous environment, but also eliminates the ‘hassle’ of donning personal protective equipment.

The Fluke 1748 power meter logs more than 500 different parameters for each averaging period. This allows you to analyse power quality in detail and link intermittent events to detailed waveform data to identify the root cause of faults. The Fluke 1746 power meter captures all relevant power parameters for basic recording of mains power quality, for the purpose of energy-saving surveys and electrical network planning, with the option of a full upgrade to a 1748 power meter. For simple load and energy surveys, the Fluke 1742 power meter offers optimum performance in a rugged package. The 1742 can be upgraded to the 1746 or to the full functionality of the 1748. Hardware functions

  • Measure the three voltage and current phases plus the neutral: Three-phase and zero voltage cables and four flexible current clamps.
  • Comprehensive logging function: More than 20 individual log sessions can be stored in the instrument. A wide range of current and power quality variables are automatically recorded, so you won't miss a single measurement trend.
  • Measuring with very high accuracy: Meets the stringent standard IEC 61000-4-30 Class A, Edition 3 for ‘Test and measurement techniques: methods for measuring mains power quality’.
  • Capture voltage fluctuations and interruptions: The 1748 contains snapshots of event waveforms and an RMS event profile, along with the date, timestamp and event severity information, to identify possible root causes of mains power quality problems.
  • Measurement of key mains power quality parameters: Measurement of harmonics and interharmonics for voltage and current, including unbalance, flicker and rapid voltage changes.
  • Optimised user interface: Always capture correct data with a fast, interactive graphical PC installer and remove uncertainty about connections with the intelligent verification function and the only automatic correction function available for a Power Quality Logger. Connection errors are automatically indicated by an orange light on the unit's power button, which turns green once the error has been corrected.
  • Optimised user interface: Quick, graphical settings for which additional information is available allow you to capture the right data every time, and the intelligent monitoring function ensures that the right connections have been made, reducing user uncertainty
  • Flexible feeding: Switches on directly from the measured circuit with the most extensive range available for a Power Quality Logger (automatically from 100 V to 500 V), or switches on with a power cable for a wall outlet, so you can test anywhere.
  • Robust and reliable: Designed for demanding installation environments with degree of protection IP65 when used with IP65 voltage input adapter.
  • Two external USB ports: One for connection to a PC and another for quick and easy downloading of data to a standard USB stick or other USB devices, allowing you to leave the measuring instrument in place without interrupting the logging function.
  • Ethernet connectivity: Wired and wireless connections for instrument installation and fast data download.
  • Compact dimensions: With its modest size of 23 cm x 18 cm x 5.4 cm (9.1 inches x 7.1 inches x 2.1 inches), it fits into small spaces and dividers.
  • Highest safety rating in the industry: 600 V CAT IV/1000 V CAT III approved for service input and downstream circuits.
  • Optimised measurement accessories: Unique flat power cable that cannot get tangled and thin, flexible current clamps make installation easy even in tight spaces.
  • Battery life: Operating time of four hours (backup time) per charge on a lithium-ion battery, to cope with temporary power failures.
  • Security: Protect your valuable property from theft with a standard security chain or other security.
  • Magnetic hanging clip set: Quickly and safely store the instrument in or outside electrical dividers. Suitable for all models and supplied as standard with the 1748 model.

Software features

  • Settings and downloading for “In-workshop” or “In-the-Field” via the PC application software: Easy downloading using USB stick, wifi download, Ethernet cable connection or via USB cable.
  • Application software Energy Analyze Plus: Download and analyse every measured detail of energy consumption and power quality condition with automatic reports.
  • Reports at the touch of a button: Create standard reports according to common standards such as EN 50160, IEEE 519, GOST 33073 or export data in a PQDIF or NeQual-compatible format for use with third-party software.
  • Advanced analysis: Choose from all available logged parameters to create a customised display of logged measurements for advanced data linking.
