The MIT400/2 series CAT IV insulation and continuity testers are designed for use in an exceptionally wide range of applications, including electrical installations, cable testing, motor testing, automotive, ESD, panel building, aerospace and maintenance.
The MIT400/2 series improves insult testing with feedback-controlled test voltages to limit the overvoltage to 2 %, instead of the industry standard of 10 to 20 %. In addition, a variable range has been added to allow any intermediate voltage from 50 V to 1000 V in 10 V increments, when application-specific test voltages not found in the standard ranges are required.
Replacing the original MIT400 instruments, the new units have a redesigned housing, a rear stand and a 6-cell battery compartment with separate access for fuses. All instruments are overmoulded for better protection and meet protection rating IP54. In addition, the MIT400/2 makes continuity testing significantly faster, and one automatic measurement function from 0.01 Ω to 1.0 MΩ replaces the ‘ohms’ and ‘kOhms’ ranges. The 200 mA and 20 mA test options remain.
The range consists of four instruments:
- MIT400/2: 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V
- MIT410/2: 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V + polarisation index, dielectric absorption ratio
- MIT420/2: 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V + polarisation index, dielectric absorption ratio, variable test voltage and result storage
- MIT430/2: 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V + Polarisation index, dielectric absorption ratio, variable test voltage and Bluetooth download
