Fluke Norma 4000/5000 Power Analyzers With High Accuracy

Producer: Fluke

Reliable, high-precision measurements for testing and developing power electronics

Fluke's compact Norma Series Power Analyzers offer state-of-the-art measurement technology. They help engineers develop and test motors, inverters, lighting, power supplies and transformers as well as automotive components.

Based on a patented wide-bandwidth architecture, the instruments perform high-precision measurements of single-phase or three-phase current and voltage, analyse harmonics, perform FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) analysis and calculate power and other derived values.

The series includes the Fluke Norma 4000 Three-Phase Power Analyzer and the Fluke Norma 5000 Six-Phase Power Analyzer. These robust, high-precision analysers offer an unmatched price-performance ratio for easy and reliable use on site or as tabletop instruments in laboratories and workbenches.

Applications

  • Drive systems for electric motors and inverters - Through detailed spectrum analysis and dynamic torque calculation capability, inverter-induced switching losses are accurately measured and torque transients at higher frequencies are thoroughly analysed.
  • Inverter drive system - The simultaneous measurement of electrical and mechanical power parameters in the same time period allows users to see how one component affects another or the whole system.
  • Lighting systems - A bandwidth of up to 10 MHz and a high sampling frequency of up to 1 MHz guarantee detailed analysis of signals at ballast outputs. A unique shunt technique enables power measurements at particularly high frequencies. Thanks to simultaneous measurement of input and output power, losses can be calculated directly.
  • Transformers - Synchronous six-phase power measurements offer highly accurate calculation of the efficiency of and losses in large power transformers, even at very low power factors. Synchronous multiphase resistance measurements on transformer coils are also possible.
  • Automotive - Simultaneous measurements at electrical inputs and mechanical outputs provide complete data on the efficiency of and losses in individual components as well as in the overall drive system.
