PowerWave data recording
Waveforms for voltage and current are recorded continuously for the specified time, and they are displayed in great detail on the screen; the power waveform is derived from the corresponding data. In addition, half-cycle RMS values for voltage, current, power and frequency can be stored and recalled for analysis. This feature is particularly useful for testing standby power generation systems and UPS systems, where reliable switching on can be crucial.
Efficiency of power converters
Power inverters take DC power and convert it into AC power or vice versa. Solar power systems usually include an inverter that takes DC energy from solar cells and converts it into usable AC power. The performance of inverters can decrease over time, so inverters need to be checked. By comparing the input power with the output power, you can check the efficiency of the system. The Models 435 and 437 II can measure the efficiency of such inverters by simultaneously measuring the DC and AC power of a system to determine how much power is lost during the conversion process.
Unified power measurement
Previously, only experts could calculate how much energy was wasted due to power quality problems; utility companies could calculate the cost, but the average electrician could not perform the required measurement process. With the 430 Series II's new patented Unified Power feature, you can use a single handheld instrument to determine how much energy is being wasted and calculate exactly what the additional cost of power consumption is. Fluke's patented Unified Power Measurement system offers the most comprehensive view of power and measures:
- Parameters of classical power (Steinmetz 1897) and power according to IEEE 1459-2000
- Detailed loss analysis
- Imbalance analysis
Imbalance analysis These UPM calculations are used to quantify the financial cost of energy losses due to power quality problems. The calculations, together with other plant-specific information, are performed by an energy loss calculator, which ultimately determines how much money a plant loses due to energy wastage.
AutoTrend - fast trend recording
The unique AutoTrend function gives you quick insight into changes over time. Each value shown on the display is automatically and continuously recorded without the need to set threshold levels or interval times, or start the process manually. You can quickly see trends in voltage, current, frequency, power, harmonics or flicker in all three phases and neutral. And you can analyse the trends with the cursors and zoom function, even while recording continues in the background.
System monitoring - easily check performance complies with EN50160
At the touch of a button, the unique system monitoring gives you an overview of the power system's performance, checking whether the mains supply meets EN50160 limits or your own specifications. The overview is displayed on a single screen with coloured bars clearly indicating which parameters are out of limits
