Fluke 2052 advanced cable locator kit

Key features

  • Quickly and accurately locate live and de-energised wires and cables in walls, ceilings and floors
  • Find breaks, interruptions and short circuits and easily locate circuit breakers and fuses
  • Safety specification CAT IV 600 V
  • Includes i400 AC Current Clamp for creating a trace signal on the cable when you do not have access to exposed conductors

Designed for your safety

The Fluke 2052 advanced cable locator accurately and safely troubleshoots live and de-energised cables in residential, commercial and industrial environments up to CAT IV 600 V. This CAT specification offers the highest protection available on any cable locator. It is designed to protect you from the most dangerous levels of commutation collapse, peaks up to 8,000 V, that can occur in industrial environments. This is especially important for scenarios you may encounter in environments such as industrial plants, factories and hospitals where critical equipment cannot be taken out of service.

Cable tracing adapted to your needs

Whether troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment in homes, commercial buildings or high-voltage facilities, the Fluke 2052 can easily detect breaks, interruptions and short circuits. Its various modes and functions give you the flexibility to detect a wide range of electrical wiring and circuit problems you may encounter on the job.

Receiver with four tracking modes

The 2052-R receiver detects signal in wires and cables in two ways: passive tracing without transmitter for non-contact voltage detection, and active tracing with transmitter for all other modes. The receiver's point sensor can trace wires in corners, tight spaces and junction boxes.

  • ‘Quick scan’ mode for detection and visualisation of live cables on the large colour LCD screen
  • ‘Precision’ mode for more accurate detection of a cable
  • ‘Circuit breaker’ mode for easy identification of circuit breakers and fuses based on the highest recorded signal detected by the transmitter
  • ‘Non-contact voltage detection’ mode to trace live wires without using the transmitter

Three transmitter power modes

The 2000-T transmitter operates on live and de-energised circuits up to CAT IV 600 V and has high, low and loop modes. These modes change the strength of the generated signal and, depending on the circuit you are tracing, can provide more accurate results.

  • ‘High’ mode for normal live and de-energised circuits
  • ‘Low’ mode for accurate searching with low signal to reduce coupling with nearby wires and metal objects
  • ‘Loop’ mode for de-energised closed circuits

Two transmitter output frequencies

The 2000-T automatically detects whether the system is energised or de-energised and selects an output frequency of 6 kHz or 33 kHz.

Eight receiver sensitivity levels

More sensitivity levels mean more flexibility and tracking accuracy.

Complete set

The Fluke 2052 advanced cable locator kit comes with everything needed to start tracing wires and circuits. The accessory kit includes test leads, test probes, adapters for wall sockets with round and flat pins and alligator clips to connect the transmitter to electrical systems. Connecting the transmitter to a bare conductor with the crocodile clips and test leads provided always gives the most accurate results. However, in situations where a direct connection to a bare conductor is not available, the supplied i400 current clamp can be used with the ‘Loop’ mode to generate an amplified 6 kHz signal through the insulation. The kit also includes batteries and a hard carrying case.
