Gw Instek PSW-30 108 Programmable Switching D.C. Power Supply

Producer: Gw Instek
The PSW series is a single-output programmable switching DC power supply with a power range of up to 1080W. This series of products includes fifteen models with the combination of 30V, 80V, 160V, 250V and 800V rated voltages and maximum output powers of 360W, 720W and 1080W. The multi-range function enables the flexible and efficient configuration of voltage and current within the rated power range. As the PSW series can be connected in series for up to 2 units or in parallel for up to 3 units, the ability to connect multiple PSW units for higher voltage or current output offers a wide range of applications. With the flexibility of multi-range power consumption and series/parallel connection, the PSW series significantly reduces the user's investment in different power supply products for projects with different power requirements. The CV / CC priority selection of the PSW series is a very useful feature for DUT protection. The conventional power supply normally operates in CV mode when the output power is switched on. This can bring high inrush current to the capacitive load or current-intensive load at the power output. Taking the I-V curve verification of LED as an example, it becomes a very challenging task to perform this measurement with a conventional power supply. With LED connected to a power supply in CV mode as the initial setting, when the power output is switched on and the voltage rises to the LED forward voltage, the current will suddenly go up and exceed the preset value of the current limit. Upon detecting this high current, the power supply initiates the transition from CV mode to CC mode. Although the current becomes stable after the CC mode is activated, the current spike took place on the CV and the CC crossover point could potentially damage the DUT. In the output current phase, the PSW series can operate under CC priority to reduce the current spike at the threshold voltage and therefore protect DUT from inrush current damage. The OVP and OCP are supplied with the PSW series. Both OVP and OCP levels can be selected, with default level set to 110%, from the rated voltage/current of the power supply. When one of the protection levels is activated, the power output is switched off to protect the DUT. The PSW series provides USB Host / Device and LAN interfaces and GPIB-USB adapter as standard, RS232-USB as optional. The LabView driver and PC software Datalogging are supported on all available interfaces. An analogue control/monitoring connector is also available on the rear panel for external control of power on/off and external monitoring of output voltage Voltage and current
