The new Fluke 287/289 digital true-RMS multimeters are designed for those of you at the top of your industry. Replacing our popular 180-series multimeters, these instruments offer the same features and more.
Both multimeters have advanced features for unattended data logging and on-screen display of trend data without having to download it to a PC. The TrendCapture function helps engineers and technicians detect problems faster, for example when performing preventive and predictive maintenance.
An extra-large screen graphically displays the results. The improved user interface with integrated help function (via i-information key) is available in seven languages. In addition, the instruments have a softkey interface. Both meters can record multiple sessions unattended on site, where logged readings can be viewed without a PC. A lifetime warranty applies to both instruments.
The two Fluke instruments have a large 3-1/2-inch dot matrix display with quarter-VGA resolution and a maximum reading of 50,000 counts on which multiple sets of readings can be displayed simultaneously. The display also has a white backlight with two modes and displays context-sensitive internal help screens. Instrument settings can be customised to save time and increase productivity. Multiple storage options and automatic time-marking allow convenient retrieval and recall of on-site measurement results, while a PC interface ensures easy data transfer. With the optional FlukeView® Forms software for PCs, users can document, store and analyse measured values and turn them into professional-looking reports.
True-RMS voltage and current measurement
Fluke's new meters can store up to 15,000 readings. For accurate measurements of non-linear signals, they can measure true-RMS voltage and current. They have a capacitance range of 50 mF and measure up to 10 A (or 20 A for 30 seconds). The peak recording function can record transients at rates of up to 250 microseconds. A relative mode eliminates test lead resistance when measuring low resistance values or capacitance measurements. The batteries of both meters have a service life of 200 hours.
The Fluke 287/289 has an AC bandwidth of 100 kHz and a DC base accuracy of 0.025%. The instrument features a temperature measurement function.
