The high dynamic range of the power meter also enables troubleshooting of LAN and telecom networks. Both the power meter and the light source support the fibre inspection probe to capture images of the connector at each end of the cabling.<\/p>\n<p>All OTDRs include a power meter and, in combination with a FiberMASTER light source, the OTDR can be used to directly measure cable attenuation or measure the output power of optical equipment for troubleshooting purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The fibre inspection probe with automatic certification to IEC61300-3-35 standard. 90% of all problems with fibre-optic cables and networks arise from dirty and\/or damaged connectors.
